Here's what our own program and product names mean. For general quilting words (fat quarter, HST, WOF and more), see Quilting Glossary: Quilting Terms A to Z.
1. Stripology
- Stripology: Gudrun's way of cutting fabric. Lay the ruler down once and cut strip after strip through its slits, with no sliding and no lining up again.
- Stripologized: A pattern that has been reworked so it can be cut with Stripology rulers. It is usually a pattern that was not written for Stripology to begin with.
- Success Kits: Our three Stripology starter kits (Beginner, Creative and Success), each built around the rulers with patterns, books and videos.
- Certified Stripology Instructor: A quilting teacher who has completed our Stripology certification course and teaches the method.
- Stripology partner shop: An independent quilt shop that carries and teaches Stripology.
2. Clubs and Subscriptions
- Goody's Color Club: A monthly fabric subscription. Each month brings curated cuts and a new color story from Gudrun, with fat quarter and half-yard options.
- Goody's Lil' Bundle Club: A fabric subscription every other month: 12 coordinated fat-twelfth cuts, curated by Gudrun.
- Goody's Shades Club: A quarterly subscription for background and neutral fabrics: three 1-yard cuts (light, medium and dark), curated by Gudrun.
- Goody's Wideback Club: A curated 3-yard cut of 108" wideback fabric every other month, plus member savings on widebacks.
- Fat twelfth: A small precut, one twelfth of a yard, used in our Lil' Bundles.
- Block of the Month (BOM): A quilt made in parts, with a new block and its instructions released on a schedule.
3. Shipping and Rewards
- FAB Box (Fill-A-Box): A way to combine several orders into one flat-rate shipment. The Small FAB Box holds up to 20 lbs and the Large FAB Box holds up to 30 lbs.
- GE Fams Rewards: Our rewards program. Members earn GEasy Points when they shop and on their birthday, then turn those points into rewards to use at checkout. Only one reward can be used per order.
- GEasy Points: The points you earn in GE Fams Rewards.
4. Events, Shows and Services
- FamFest: Our annual multi-day quilting celebration at GE Designs headquarters in Chaska, Minnesota. It started because our community wanted to get together in person after the pandemic, and it's a celebration of quilting, creativity and community.
- Virtual Retreat: A live online sewing event, one-day or three-day, with exclusive patterns, videos and a retreat box.
- Live shows: Gudrun and the team go live on YouTube and Facebook every week, including Tipsy Tuesday and Happy Friday.
- Tip of the Day: A short video tip from Gudrun, cut from our live shows.
- Quilt-along (QAL): A group project where everyone makes the same quilt on a schedule, with video steps.
- Quilting Escapes: Quilting trips with Gudrun.
- GEasy Longarm Services: Our longarm quilting service. You send us your quilt top and we quilt it.
5. Tools and Methods
- GEasy: Our family of quilting tools and projects, such as GEasy Point Trimmers and GEasy Ruler Stickers.
- Quilt As You Go (QAYG): A method where you quilt each section as you piece it, so the quilt is finished when the last piece goes on. Our QAYG kits use printed batting.
